When people experience severe life stressors it’s not uncommon to feel as if life is unraveling. Depression and grief can undermine the well-being of clients and their families. My passion is in supporting those experiencing major life changes like loss, divorce, blended family, addictions, emotional dysregulation (BPD and other Cluster B personality disorders), learn how to develop coping skills, find solutions, and reconnect with themselves.
A Registered Therapist, I have a BA from the University of Victoria, and a Master's degree from the University of British Columbia. For twenty years I've been a university Professor and lecturer at the University of Victoria, Vancouver Island University, and Royal Roads University.
I'm dedicated to helping others with the exploration of stories we tell ourselves about our lives, and with developing personal awareness and empowerment through writing. Professional Counselling has allowed me to bring all that I know and continue to learn into the compassionate service of helping others.
I'm a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC) with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada. My services are covered by most insurance companies: Manulife, Equitable, Pacific Blue Cross, and Sun Life. Certified by Psychology Today. Visit the site to find out more.
